His Diesel run, as we all know, was mostly forgettable trash. But that was mainly because he was boxed in by Vince's silly truck driver gimmick and the cartoonist New Generation era
But when he went to WCW and started off in nWo, that's when we saw what Nash was really capable of in terms of promos and appeal to the crowd. Hall was already naturally cool on the mic whenever he spoke, and Hogan was Hogan so he was gonna get a reaction regardless of what he said
But Nash had a mix of arrogance and coolness on the mic that was extra-appealing coming from a big guy. He could call himself something as ridiculous as 'Big Sexy' and use black terms during promos, and still get away with it because of his looks and promo work
He had good (not great) mic skills for a big guy, keep in mind most really-tall guys in wrestling get by solely on their height and not necessarily their mic skills, which are usually bad. You'll get the occasional Big Show-type who can pull off sounding mean and aggressive, but that's their limit
Nash could actually talk like a normal cool guy, and while he might not have gotten over with that as a solo wrestler, his nWo association helped him to look a lot cooler than he actually was
He might have technically been the weakest link in the nWo Big 3, but that doesn't mean he sucked at the time. He held his own and did well in the group, to the point where people really wanted him to legit beat Hogan right before that godawful fingerpoke
