>>16158237Corny legitimately carnied himself out of the big bucks by pissing off the WWE and getting fired before the money train pulled up after they went public and went PG. Everything Corny says about "money in the wrestling business" is total fucking horseshit. Anyone upper midcard or better who wrestled for WWE in the 2010s for more than 5 years has the same or more money than Cornette despite Cornette being involved with the business for 4 decades. He'll sit there with a straight face and tell you that wrestling pay was better in the 70s because the top guys would get $30,000 off a big house, then he'll act like it's way more money now. That's like $175,000 today, sure, it sounds like a big payoff, but that's only the two biggest shows of the year, and the entire top of the WWE card is on 7 figure contracts. Guys who don't matter at all are on $400,000 or better contracts, and those guys would never have drawn enough to get payoffs anywhere near that back in the day.
If he was 2nd only to Vince in terms of money and influence he wouldn't live in his mom's house and his wife wouldn't be a fat goth cuck fetishist. A little tip with old money types, if they were born millionaires (and Cornette was), they can be complete morons who never make a cent in their lives and still pretend to have made millions. Remember, Corny was NEVER Ric Flair. Midnight Express were NEVER Ric Flair. Corny's top earning period was when they were selling out scaffold matches in the early 80s, and he wasn't doing anything near the numbers the WWF was doing at the time. His career DOES NOT EXIST without the faces he worked with, who were the actual over acts. You can't overstate how carried he was by the Rock and Roll Express.
