>>16166218I can't even blame Tony for this one, it's more likely that he doesn't have much to do with crafting the gimmicks for the wrestlers or is easily persuaded by tenured guys on "what works" if he does present ideas so they essentially get to roam free.
Nah, as I've wrote here before I think the problem is MVP (with the other two following lead because they got weary of how they were presented at their worst) being stuck in this idea on how they should be presented, how they act, how they dress and how their act and booking goes and not budging from it.
It's been the same HBO tv drama style faction building ever since I returned to watching wrestling during the pandemic stupidity. Like they watched that Denzel 'American Gangster' movie too many times and only the parts where the bad guy is in peak success and are running it on repeat while hearing too many stories about Million Dollar Man getting his first class tickets paid for his gimmick.
"yeah we the big players now, Champaign, limousine and women, we succesful lemme put a menacing monologue promo about how we the toughest guys in this business" that's the vibe. And that's fine if it goes over and goes somewhere....
...but it never really did. It never really resonated with anyone in the audience nor did it change up significantly and now it's at status quo in a new place.
