It's long overdue.

There's a bunch of indy shows every week. It makes sense for WWE to send their developmental talent out to these shows so they can gain experience faster.

It should also get some more indy wrestlers working the way WWE wants them to which should help people get signed.

If you are a current indy wrestler who isn't ready for WWE, you have to work a real job and try to work indies on top of it to support yourself. Not everyone can do that.

Now, if WWE is interested in someone, that person will probably get enough money to live off of so they can focus solely on wrestling and now can learn the way WWE wants them to. WWE's also going to fund various indies it seems through this which is good for indy wrestling.

What I don't get is how it's WWE's fault that AEW and others are so poor and lack vision. If Tony cared about anything other than signing other promotions toys away from them, maybe he could fund similar programs.

I think the difference is both WWE/AEW go after "big free agents" but WWE will also actively look for small indie names and college athletes from scratch to develop.

There are like 6 women in NXTs division that were on Dark as well as guys like Frazer and Jevon Evans who never got contracts from AEW before WWE came in and got them

Not really. NIL, at best, will turn the top ten percent of its trainees in WWE performers. Most of them won't make it. Some of them might be good enough to wrestle elsewhere. WWE was never going to stop hiring indie talent. If there are people outside of WWE worth having (ex. Jacob Fatu, Jade Cargill) they'll always try to sign them.

It's a good backup plan for the industry in case AEW ever goes out of business. It should help grow the industry in the long run.

If this means that people who make a name for themselves on the independent scene can keep their names and gimmicks once they get to WWE it's a good thing. To many people get ruined by the NXT name generator.
