>>16170429You've got this slightly wrong. The filing stated that no publicly traded company owns more than 10% of AEW LLC.
But AEW is owned by a parent company called Beatnik Investments which was headed by Khan and Thomas Clarkson. It is possible (though unlikely) that, as Beatnik has no other business apart from AEW, then they bought into the parent company instead. I'm not saying they have, just that the statement is weasel worded.
The wrestling media doesn't know who Thomas Clarkson is btw and why he's involved in AEW but here's some "insider knowledge" for you- he's Tony's "handler" who works for his Dad. Clarkson used to work with Shad in Stache Investments, a company setup to loan money to small businesses in the Jacksonville area and was the Chief Financial Officer. He's there to make sure Tony doesn't buy the Moon or give someone a 30000% payrise or something retarded.
Putting a straight laced financially conservative guy with Tony has always been a good move. He's a bit loose with money at times if he's passionate about what he's doing.
