It's like they don't care how that would effect Gunther or any of the other white talent, writers, crew, execs. It would put a stain on them all that everyone would always point to. MVP and Bobby both (but far more MVP) are too entrenched in racial stuff.
AEW is already skirting a fine line with Moxley openly saying his new gimmick is based on a racist character from an old Australian film called Romper Stomper.
If Tony allows MVP to talk him into pushing that angle even further into being about race then AEW is about to be in a publicity nightmare. And Mox is going to spend the rest of his career having to explain why he choose to play a racist because people are too on edge about race stuff today.
I mean we all have seen the reation to Tony Hinchcliffe's Puerto Rico joke, that was clearly and obviously a joke. Now imagine how those same people would react to a race war on a wrestling program. The juice is not worth the squeeze.
I'm unironically praying that Tony isn't pressured by MVP and Bobby to do some cringe race based storyline.
