I honestly feel like it's more HHH clearing the "vince guys" who got pushed in the place of guy's HHH wanted on tv in pushes like Dunne/DIY
A lot of the vince guys got let go: Elias, Bobby Lashley, Corbin, Jinder
And guys like Omos, Theory, Pretty Deadly, got pushed way down in terms of prominence

My guess is Apollo has found backstage roles that give him some job security. I know a good handful of the guys you don’t see on TV are used to help train incoming part time talent like The Rock, Brock, and CM Punk.

I recall Curtis Axel was being used to help prep the rock back in his short 2014 run.
