Additional spoiler alert: when they decide to have an interviewer ask him how he’s always outside the arena despite being in different cities every week, he’ll admit to hitchhiking across the country just following WWE so he can eat the garbage from catering. He eventually gets hired for $100 as a last minute replacement to be in a squash match as “local talent”, only to pull off a surprise upset and get the win. From there he gets hired week to week for a while building up a win streak leading to a contract match against whoever he’s feuding against. The gimmick continues when it’s revealed most of the paycheck he gets is taken by his ex-wife in alimony and child support, keeping him as basically a working bum.
