WCW and ECW would both exist today if TV money was higher in the 90's. They got better ratings than what WWE and AEW got now and would have had enough to be around today.

We missed out on thousands of shows because these promotions closed. There's probably hundred of extra wrestlers had they stayed around. And wrestling would have been a lot more popular.

I wish AEW had any of the likeability these two promotions had, but they don't.

AEW exists because a billionaire doesn't care about wasting his money. Ted Turner was the same way until he got ousted by his own company. ECW barely functioned and only because Vince was funding them and only Paul was making money from that

It'd be TNA with an earlier TV deal & the foresight not to run weekly PPVs. Genuinely what do people think it would have looked like at that point? It'd be Jeff Jarrett, the cruiserweights, and whoever couldn't pass a drug test doing Russo shit. It'd be TNA.

If it doesn't become literally ROH, it becomes the original version of MLW and peters out by 2004 while the indies do their thing

WCW was the property of time warner, so time warner was just paying themselves to make content, WCW would never had been able to negotiate a price for their shows.

watch ECW on TNN. You had the same super crazy vs guido match over and over again. Months old PPV matches, like the video of the PPV. Bad promos where guys are just dropping innuendo and have nothing to do with storylines. More than once they pointed the camera at a computer screen and just filmed someone scrolling through the ECW website.

I think this woulda kinda depend on whether or not Gabe was able to start having influence with Paul, if he did it'd morph more in ROH if not then yeah it'd just be what early mlw was until it lost all steam.

ROH only existed cause every other indie was trying to be ECW, in particular the hardcore wrestling side of ECW. Early ROH was counter marketing genius and they mostly kept it all within kayfabe.
