>>16257597Mistico in WWE has to be the most egregious example ever of assuming you can just pluck someone who's a big deal in one market and they'll keep their star quality with a completely new gimmick in a completely different market. It's weird because for all of WWE's faults past and present, that doesn't seem like the kind of mistake they'd have ever made with how insular they were back in the Vince days.
Feel like the only thing that comes close is Okada's horrible character in AEW right now and that's at least happening in front of a fanbase that was familiar with him before. But even still, Okada was never the star in Japan that Mistico was in Mexico. Just a weird fucking signing
