This is honestly true and I think it's the one thing they deserve credit for. The AEW women have made a ton of leaps since the Britt/Rosa sandbagging days. Right now they're "mostly competent but horribly booked" which is a lot better than the dumpster fire it was 2-3 years ago.
But also Mercedes came in to AEW fairly rusty and pretty much had zero effect on the improvement. I don't think she's as bad as people say she is, but she's definitely not in good form, while AEW originals like Kris Statlander have pretty much surpassed her.

Big Egg in 1994 did draw close to that. The reason AJW went downhill was because the Matsunagas were fucking terrible with money and their outside investments tanked

It's Tony who is afraid of booking upper carder vs upper carder matches where someone has to lose. This is why they don't really have a main event scene in AEW and book more like a small territory where there's 1 top guy at a time who defends against random challengers.
