WWE does this shit all the time. They use some generic, rights free music for a wrestler when they debut because they don't want to invest a ton of money creating an entrance theme or licensing music in case the wrestler doesn't get over. Then they give them a better theme at a later date.

Exactly. They've been using audio library music for the past two years for their special TV episodes, then it got spread on the superstars and on the PLEs (in fact, the themes of the recent Halloween Havoc and the upcoming Deadline are audio library music as well).

The list goes fucking on and on for the Attitude Era. Pretty much chances are if a wrestler's theme wasn't included on one of those official WWF albums back then it was just a production track

10% or maybe even more of the best themes are either royalty free or even public domain. The NWO theme is royalty free (even if it's really just a bunch of Hendrix samples) and Goldberg had fucking stock music for crying out loud.
