>>16301420You're overexagerrating what people in Britain think of the IRA. A lot of people here would not care if Northern Ireland was future endeavoured from the union. The IRA orchestrated run-ins here in England, but the public generally understood this was a feud with the British government, and eventually the IRA saw it wasn't doing anything good for their cause anyway.
The IRA has the vast majority of its heat in Northern Ireland, where there are people who will tell you they're British but they were born and raised in NI, not Britain itself. So there's a confusion there for outsiders.
Incidentally an IRA angle in a Northern Irish wrestling event would be insane. Like if you think New Jack running an anti-KKK gimmick in SMW was subversive, this would be 100x worse.
