Wrestling believability has a pre-MMA and post-MMA era that doesn't get acknowledged enough. Mox wrestles and brawls like an untrained tough guy, but that shit doesn't work at all once you've seen any UFC fight, and UFC has been more popular than WWE since 2007.
The Shield worked because they had the 3 styles. Roman was (bad) fake MMA. Seth was the technical flippy shitter. Ambrose was the brawler, and by far the worst of the 3. On his own he's terrible. He might have the worst combined work and promo of anyone headlining major shows.
