Honestly it's really impressive seeing how natural everything he did looked. Grabbed by vergil? Might be just natural, but he looks gassed as hell and it doesn't look awkward when he doesn't fight back, he looks exhausted. It makes his sudden move look even more surprising.
He even goes for rollups directly when they're distracted, it's not just from one spot, it's more like an actual tactic. Even the ending of the match is really good since bret looks so damn tired by the end, he can't power out of it.
I think what's even more impressive is that he doesn't feel like he massively stands out even in 1990 either, feels still like part of the roster, firmly within the time.
