The C2 should be the most important part of the year in AEW and it should have the most stakes. A big problem is that there are always a hundred other go-nowhere feuds happening in AEW at any given time and the way the C2 is set up (no interference, no gimmicks, top prize is a meme belt instead of a shot at the world title) makes it impossible for the tournament to intersect with the main ongoing thing in AEW (Moxley and the plumber gang taking over) so it really is just a bunch of bullshit. But it doesn't have to be.
