Not a capitalism worshipper, all my favorite promotions have run at a loss and many have gone out of business. I've liked indies from CHIKARA to CZW, I like Japanese wrestling from Dragon Gate to NOAH to Big Japan. My point is I like variety of styles.
I saw a GCW torrent for all the shows from 2023, and to their credit GCW puts on a lot of shows. I think one of the industries biggest problems is that guys just don't get enough experience working in front of crowds. A lot of AEW guys are going to finish the year with less than 20 matches. So for such a small promotion to run more than one show week is incredibly important for the industry. I don't think ROH broke 50 shows a year until they started filming for HD net. That said I knew I wasn't going to watch every show. So I went on Cagematch and only downloaded the shows that got over a 7. lolcagematch, but if anyone can tell me a secretly good GCW show that happened to get bad reviews on Cagematch I'm all ears.
I gave the first two shows an honest try. Everything else I had to skim. I guess Blake Christian has somewhat of a personality, but he wrestles girls and has what I'll call CHIKARA face. And the sums up all the nice things I have to say about GCW.
