Jay White famously was not a fan of wrestling growing up.

He got into the business because he won Wrestlemania tickets on a radio show and decided "I could do this" while watching.
He doesn't have the mark fan mentality and all and it shows in his wrestling style which is very straightforward and grounded, no flippy mark shit.

Tony wanted Punk on the Chicago tv and PPV, where he would beat Mox.
Mox came up with the idea that they would do the Rocky thing, which meant Punk wrestling before he is cleared, and Mox is even in wins and losses with him, plus he squashes Punk on tv while Punk wins at the PPV with 10 percent of the viewership of the tv.
Mox's idea is based off movie psychology, not wrestling, which meant Punk having a miraculous recovery in like two weeks and using the power of Chicago to beat Mox, which is dumb and the whole thing put Punk at risk, and if he got injured again, Mox and others would use it as a gotcha to say he was fragile.
