The Monday night wars happened because Nitro was legitimately better than Raw in its early days and it scared the shit out of Vince. WCW was showcasing fucking Sabu while WWF was still dicking around with characters like Isaac Yankem.

"Money and miles" refer to the wrestler, not the company. In Nash's philosophy, all promoters and companies are scamming scumbags that just want to get as much as possible from wrestlers before throwing them to the curb. Therefore as a wrestler you should put in as little effort as possible and get all the money you can get then quit.

Pretty cynical but also kind of true, at least in Nash's days

Not a single person gave a shit about Sabu's run in WCW, remembers he was even there or goes back and watches 1995 Nitro to see Sabu. The actual important stuff (Hogan vs Dungeon of Doom) was embarrassing slop and both companies were shit until Scott Hall debuted on Nitro

Two reasons:
The undercard was complete dogshit, so they couldn't pad shows with shit that was moderately enjoyable.
Disesel got over as the badass heavy for Shawn Michaels, and as soon as Vince switched him babyface and put the title on him, he was doing an "aw shucks" vanilla babyface gimmick. It's literally what he did with Cena and Roman, because that's what Vince's idea for a top guy always was. Worked for Hogan, Backlund didn't have the charisma to pull that off specifically, and it worked for Cody. But Stone Cold is the only guy who got over outside that mold and let him continue being that guy.
