Yup. Tony should hand the reigns over to Bischoff, just let him completely run AEW, and center it around a storyline where WBD brings in Bischoff to save the company. That's the only thing that could maybe put some life back into AEW. But, of course, Tony would rather destroy his own toy fed then let another kid play with it.

Both of them have said numerous times that AEW will never die as long as Tony Khan keeps funding it. They're just saying that AEW's audience won't grow and the shows are terrible. AEW is 'dying' as a true competitor and viable alternative to the WWE. It plays solely to its dwindling fanbase that worships anything and anyone that Dave Meltzer says to.

Yes, it literally would. A new owner storyline involving Eric Bischoff where he's actually the new owner? That'd pop a rating. People would tune in just to see how Bischoff's AEW is different from Tony's AEW. And Bischoff's AEW would be better so it would result in at least some longterm ratings gains.

People meaning who exactly? Viewers don't exist in a vacuum.
The hundreds of thousands of fans AEW ran off with their (genuinely Bischoff-inspired) current booking were mostly hardcore fans who hate Bischoff. AEW had no casual fans, they just ran off their own smark base. You can tell because WWE didn't get a boost in viewers when AEW started declining.
And most of the people who watch WWE today have no idea who the fuck Bischoff is, weren't around for him, and wouldn't care. They'd probably make fun of it.

In domestic ratings after hotshotting everything wildly for 2 years, sure. But WCW was a US-only phenomenon whereas WWF was a globally successful brand. They were never on the same playing field. WCW couldn't even get a foothold in Canada let alone Europe.

not anymore. look this isnt 1995 everybody knows everything about the business now there is no mystery. nobody is going to believe bischoff is the new owner and besides he is forgotten at this point except by a very few diehard fans. he hasnt been around for years and adds nothing being used as an onscreen character at this point. when did he specifically ever draw huge ratings? he was always around hogan and the nwo and besides maybe his first appearance in the wwe i doubt he made a difference in the ratings at all 20 years ago. bischoff wasnt never a star

TNA's HIGHEST EVER number of viewers was 2.2 Million, which was thanks to the Hogan debut - not any of Russo's stories. They never reached that number again. They were lucky to average anything close to that amount.

Russo also wasn't "head of creative" or "writing TNA" at the time, like he insists. He was one of many writers on the staff.
