Theory: they don’t split up with fighting, but rather Kofi and Xavier come to an agreement that they need to separate as New Day isn’t mutually beneficial to them. They are about to hug, and then Big E comes out and they all hug and the crowd pops.

That was weird. They could have just as easily turned Kofi and Woods together without pissing away things with Big E. The guy who they just got all of their heat over they can't even have a match with and isn't going to be around week to week. There sure as hell aren't any babyface tag teams around over enough to do anything meaningful with there. Unless they go back to the Usos again? Dunno. Just seems like they wanted to do some sort of big moment for their 10 years without really weighing where it'd leave things after

Eh. Maybe. I don't think there was anyone out there ever clamoring for a New Day implodes triple threat. If anything the money was in the reunion. If Big E is able to be cleared and they were only a month or two away from being able to do so just to take that route instead would be a huge mistake. Get the return and reunion pop and then do the split after if you had to

Maybe what it means is Big E slowly moved up the ladder and kind of drifted away from them over the past few years? So eventually they remained "friends" but Big E felt he was more important due to his new work so he would spend less and less time with them

They had also been together for like months. Not 10 years. Big difference there. I get a common enemy can bring people together but it didn't actually fix their issues with each other or how they were doing as a team. It also isn't going to do them any good when the person all of the heat was based around isn't there week to week. People were chanting 'Big E rocks' not 'New Day sucks'

But I noticed this too. Even in a suit. Which isn't to say he couldn't have slimmed down regardless. Carrying all of that he was before probably wasn't helping his neck and he could just be more limited gym wise. But that felt more like closure than it did opening the doors for his return. I guess we'll see. Hopefully I'm wrong

Big E was clear about saying he refused to go in front of the crowd because he couldn't handle it. He'd only do it if he was cleared. This suggests he got cleared and was written into a story. Woods even alluded to it by saying he'll never be cleared and to stop teasing us.
