AEW will always be a distant second company, and its only relevance is due to Tony's dad's money and media/sports connections. Wrestling is already a niche slice of entertainment, and AEW occupies an infinitesimal amount of that slice. Tony has gotten ZERO of his roster over in a mainstream way, including ex WWE wrestlers who have some name recognition. Tony has yet to produce a memorable storyline, has barely offered anything revolutionary and new to the business, and most offensively, has become more concerned with "beating WWE" than establishing his own promotion's identity. Every single audience driven metric is down year over year for the past 5 years. Of late, the only accolades AEW gets is high praise from Sean Ross Sapp and Meltzer, in other words, useless shit. Tony can't even claim that his promotion pushed WWE in a better direction - that was done due to senile Vince stepping down. Tony is a nepotistic failson who bestows cool jobs on himself that his dork self dreamed of doing as a younger guy, and due to his dad's inhuman hard work, Tony reaps the rewards. Oh and worst of all, Tony is more of a mark than the boys. Fuck you
