>>16400438>>16400763If you thought WWE was hot in 2024, you ain't seen nothing yet. WWE is going to receive a massive surge in interest once they're on Netflix. More people than ever will be exposed to pro wrestling around the world. In theory increased interest in WWE should help other promotions.
But in practice those promotions need a product that can appeal to that average WWE fan. This worked for TNA back in the day before Hogan / Bishoff takeover. I got into TNA for a while simply because it was close enough to the wrestling I was used to watching. AEW is fucking themselves hard by not having a good product right now. In a world where more people are watching WWE, AEW should be able to grow their audience and attendances too.
>>16400786This. I pirate most episodes of the weekly TV shows because the experience is better. But watching PPVs on Peacock and YouTube is a seamless experience. The real value of wrestling for streaming services is that it's live content. But wrestling also has additional value because unlike traditional sports it's still worth it to watch after it airs because wrestling is about storytelling not competition.
