You don't just silently delete your fuckups after you've published something, you always include a summary of what you originally said, why it was removed, an apology for the error, some explanation for how the mistake was made, and a boilerplate statement about reaffirming your commitment to reporting accurate information and revising your fact checking policy going forward to better ensure that in the future errors like will be caught before being published or something to that effect.
