>>16411826As one of the few actual aew fans on here it's a well thought out and accurate write up of the creative successes and failures of the company over the year. It seemed they were finally putting their eggs in their own basket. Swerve, Hangman, Will. All guys they could and should be building around. Now it's reverted back to Bryan and Mox. I get wanting to have Bryan as champion but given how short his reign was I can also understand if people would've rather it not have happened. This doesn't even get into things on the women's side. You had Toni's brilliant reign and story with Mariah May built up all year long. Then around the same time they shifted things over to Bryan, which was right as May won the belt, they also reverted the attention of the division there as well. Instead of focusing on people you could label as AEW's own they push the spotlight on Mercedes and have ever since. It felt like a big step back to the 'new toy' era where they'd just grab whatever name they could from WWE. Which they haven't had to do in forever because they actually have their own roster now. There's still good going on of course and they can make some adjustments to shift back to where they were, and I hope they do. Hangman being a heel feels like another big misstep happening. Every time he's on it feels like the crowd wants to love the guy
