>>16427436>my sense tells me Hikari legit loved pro wrestling until she hit a wall at tjpwThere wasn't any wall. What I assume actually happened was that she got pissy when she got paired with Sena instead of immediately getting a singles push when Natsumi left since she said she wanted to focus on singles instead of tags when it happened. When she did get a run with the IP belt she was already well into her "spams shitty dropkick" phase and then stunk it up in the Raku match (which Hikarifag still tries to blame on Raku) because, as had started happening, she put in zero effort.
I half-wonder if, in hindsight, the Nao pairing was TJPW's way of trying smack some sense into her by putting her with someone who, by virtue of being a fair bit older, she'd (theoretically) have to show respect to. Then there was the Yuka match where Yuka just no sold her shitty superkicks which, even for memeing about big leaguing, is the type of "vet big leagues someone younger" stuff that doesn't happen in TJPW. I think Hikari let her early success/popularity go to her head, expected to be instantly shot up the card, it didn't happen and she checked out and got bored. TJPW wanted to keep her and get her to straighten up and possibly tried some stuff to that end but it didn't work and she got out in a way that more or less burned all of her bridges. Like I said, I don't think wrestling was ever anything more than a passing interest for her.
