It certainly didn't help that Tony Khan signed up anyone notable on the indies to written contracts where he gets to dictate what non-AEW dates they can work. Even dorks like Danhausen have to get permission from Tony to work shows for Bumfuck Nowhere Championship Wrestling because Tony would rather pay him money to sit at home.
