Then they had the battle royal to determine a new champion, and a lot of people thought Liv made sense to win. Obviously she's the one who injured Rhea so taking her title is logical, and besides people like Liv and she hadn't been back that long herself. But Becky won the battle royal be eliminating Liv, and a lot of people were really upset about it. Obviously there was still more to this story, and eventually Liv beat Becky for the title, but because wrestling fans can't think 15 seconds ahead, Liv lost, which means she's being buried and Triple H hates her, and Becky used her backstage pull to take the title for herself, because she's Becky Hogan and controls her own storylines. They hate her just like they hate Charlotte Hogan and now they're turning on Rhea Hogan. Really any woman who gets super over honestly.
So they hate Becky now for stealing the title that should've been Liv's even though Liv beat Becky to take it from her which is a bigger deal than winning a battle royal, and their hatred of Becky colored their impressions of Lyra. They decided that not only is Becky in control of her own booking, but also Lyra's booking, because they're from the same country. Lyra has been booked very strongly since the NXT UK days, but her win over Iyo was still depicted like a surprising upset. Now eventually Iyo got her win back because this is still one of the most valued women in WWE who can always be counted on to have a great match, but again, these people can't think 15 seconds ahead. Lyra beat Iyo? Well that means that Iyo is being buried and Triple H hates her, and it's all Becky Hogan's fault!
Ironically enough, now Liv has beaten Iyo clean, in her only title defense where she didn't have to cheat in order to win. I wonder if they'll start hating Liv Hogan now.
