>>16551736The average WWE fan does not watch wrestling outside of WWE. Period. They simply don't care, or they think it's all the minor leagues in comparison. Some WWE fans watch wrestling outside of WWE casually, and they've assuredly seen Penta in either Lucha Underground, Impact, AAA, AEW, etc at some point in the last decade. His facepaint/mask are obviously a recognizable look, so I'm sure there's a portion of WWE's audience at least generally aware of Penta, or have seen matches here or there. WWE's going to have to fight an uphill battle trying to get Penta over though since Lucha Bros booking in AEW has been so piss poor the past few years they've definitely cooled Penta off a lot. There was a lot more buzz behind him in his Impact days. In AEW he was just 1/3 of a trio for the most part in a roster full of other guys doing flips and stuff.
At the end of the day though, WWE's just going to pipe in fake cheers until fans actually come around to him, so what does it matter if they know him or not?
