While speaking on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash explained why The Rock will never take over Triple H’s role as Head of Creative in WWE. He talked about how Triple H is very focused on details, which makes him stand out. Nash gave an example of Triple H helping with the entrance of Shinsuke Nakamura.
Triple H worked closely with the production team, explaining exactly how he wanted the lighting to look, even down to small things like where the lights should come from. Nash said that The Rock doesn’t have the time or focus to handle that level of detail.
>“Did anybody see the footage? They brought back a Japanese guy, and they were working on his entrance. It was on Instagram. They showed Paul walking the production team through what he wanted. I noticed he said, ‘I want more lighting—not so much from the top, but from underneath,’ and he kind of walked them through this entire process of what he envisioned for this guy’s entrance.
>I was just like, man, this is incredible. The attention to detail—always detail, detail, detail. That’s what makes the difference between good and great. He was dialing it in, and I thought to myself, ‘Dwayne doesn’t have the time for that.'”
Kevin Nash compared Triple H to a coach, like Bill Belichick in football, who is deeply involved and knows how to lead a team. Vince McMahon used to run things that way, and Triple H has taken on a similar role.
