It would have happened if he was champ because he had say in his character and booking.
If he wanted that shit at the world title level, he would’ve gotten it at the world title level.

The only reason it didn’t happen was Cody was aware of, and feared the optics of a company owner quickly becoming the world champion of their own company

Good, but MJF should be kept out of the world title picture and instead relegated to the midcard division. Punk main eventing is fine as long as he doesn't win the title, how WWE handles him right now is perfect

What people call the Codyverse was when Tony took over the booking. All of Cody's stuff up until then was kino. The proof is pretty obvious since Tony has redone every single angle since Cody has left, and is still doing them. He did the whole weigh-in segment with the same scale just a few weeks ago. He did the US vs. UK feud again, he did the feud with the Cornette cosplay again as soon as Cody left with Sammy and Tay instead of Cody and Brandi.
