>>16609656He's 100% right then. The whole premise of pro wrestling is to "work" a match, to minimize the amount of damage each guy is doing to their body, and doing just enough to keep the marks involved in what you're doing.
The match in question may be entertaining, but saying it's a good wrestling match is like saying eating a light bulb is a good magic trick; it's not, that's not magic, it's a geek trick. There's no illusion, it's a completely different type of act.
Two guys getting in a ring and basically giving each other shoot moves is the antithesis to pro wrestling and just about anyone can do it--which I say as a Mike Awesome fan. He can work, and there is something to be said about his version of this type of match being more memorable than others, but it's unironically the lowest common denominator of wrestling. Going out there and "grabbing a hold" is more pro wrestling than this.
