I think the issue was he was talking like a internet podcast mark about it. Like even to the point where Japanese wrestling thought it was too insider. New Japan isn't as popular as it once was but it's still doesn't have the culture of some local american retard shitfed. The funny thing is that all the drama surrounding AEW could easily be turned into an angle but Tony is too dumb for that. I'm surprised that they haven't had any cross promotional beefs with NJPW yet. The extent of their relationship shouldn't be dream matches alone.

If AEW and WWE ever worked together do you think they would just book matches or do think they'd tell stories? That's what's missing between AEW and NJPW. Kenny had a great match with Gabe Kidd, good for them. But don't you think more people would have cared about it if they had a storyline around it? Those shitty NJPW press conferences aren't enough. Actual AEW TV time should have used to promote it.

If Tony is smart Chris will be on commentary alongside Excalibur and co at Forbidden Door.
