Cody was their biggest could’ve been star going by how he’s been in WWE but it’s hard to say if they would’ve ever been able to do the tard wrangling WWE obviously has been doing with Cody too. I don’t think Tony had the balls to tell Cody he’s going heel & challenging for the title.

nah he wasnt over with the fans before he left. letting cody book himself into a corner was the mistake. he did massive damage to himself by giving indie jobbers title defenses and other codyverse shit. maybe if they never hired brandi and do something where he goes back on never going after the world belt (or never do that shit at all) he could have had this run in aew. him leaving or staying at the time he did leave wouldnt have changed anything
