>>16738501People just thought that Vince would lead and book WWE until he dies, so for fuck knows how long. 2018-19 WWE was absolutely awful, 2016 smackdown was good and saved by AJ Styles, but overall that last decade was just a big load of shit in WWE.
That's why you don't see crowds "overtaking" shows in WWE anymore with chants to provoke the wrestlers/company in a shoot way. Those people went to AEW and never returned, or if they did, they're in too small numbers for their voice to matter.
AEW wouldn't exist without the thought of Eternal Vince being the only mainstream wrestling company for at least 10 more years. The moment Vince was gone, AEW stopped being useful for a lot of fans, who just went back to WWE because there's no boogeyman anymore.
And AEW didn't learn their lessons at all. For such a mark Tony is, he certainly doesn't get what made those late 90s/early 2000s so exciting for fans. So instead, we have this weird mix of long ass indie style matches on tv, that are often way too long and don't give you, a viewer, a proper hierarchy on the roster. Sure, "anyone can beat anyone on a good day", but it doesn't make much sense in wrestling unless you build a storyline around it.
I also have to say camera work in AEW is absolutely fucking awful, not sure if not worse than Dunn's zooming in&out
