I'm in my forties. I grew up all around this country and have lived all over both as a kid and an adult. I just love being lectured by people who love Texas as though those of us who don't care for it don't know what the fuck we're talking about when we have experience in places too.
There's all sorts of social problems here. They're buried beneath the surface under a veneer of politeness and morality. And they're ugly. You don't see them because you don't want to see them but it doesn't mean they're there. The places you mention ain't perfect either. But the difference is that the problems are allowed out into the open, where they can be examined and, hopefully eventually, addressed.
And your comment about being okay with your fellow Americans being nuked is disgraceful. It exactly represents the attitudes that are wrong with this place. You might not live here, but you reflect it through and through.
