russo was based , the only pro-wrestling writer who "got it". i like that vince wrote characters with shades of gray, & adhered to what the character would actually do in a given situation. for instance, in wcw, vince would put over new york when they were in town even if it got a pop. sure he was a heel, but his character was a brash new yorker so of course he would. that's reality style booking. what i don't get about smarks is they want wrestling to be real - "muh real sports presentation" - but seethe when russo incorporates shoot elements into the booking
