It's not and it never will be. No one outside of the wrestling bubble is talking about WWE. Their show attendance doesn't give them cultural relevancy. Even on a global platform like Netflix they had 4.9m as their peak worldwide. Those are rookie numbers compared to the attitude era and what that'd get in the US alone, no less if you want to compare the 2.6m (or the 664k kek) to what Raw's were doing back then

It's actually really impressive the turn around from 2019 when it comes to getting people into the stands, 2024 was third since 1985 in average attendance with 10,700 behind 1999 (12K+) and 2000 (11K+). I also still don't understand what brought people back. "Vince is gone!" - Okay? but the shows are still the same. Some decent stuff but most is skippable like always.

Fans is being generous. They were just hopping on to the latest trend. The WWE was already starting to decline in late 2000. Moving to PG and getting rid of all the embarrassing slop was the smartest thing they did. The biggest hurdle was Vince losing his fucking mind, but Triple GOAT rectified it.

This is important to hammer home because the excuse for years is that ratings are only declining because everybody is on streaming now. And yet on the largest streaming platform, with a super card heavily promoted, they can't hit Sunday Night Heat numbers.
