Democracy is going to be fine. Trump doesn't have the political capital to do most the shit he wants to do and he's going to be crippled by infighting on the right due to incompatible factions he's brought together under his big tent. It will be remedially easy for Democrats to push back against a bunch of stuff under those circumstances.
Don't fear for democracy. Fear for the economy. He is promotion policies that economists point out will exacerbate inflation rather than curtail it, much the same way that tax cuts in 2017 drove up the debt higher than it would have gone in 2020 than if he hadn't made them (this is why you don't go for massive tax cuts -- no one knows what unexpected expenditures might arise in a few years time). Talk of tariffs and pushing for policies that alienate us from our allies like pushing to purchase Greenland will hurt trade and push prices up as well.
But democracy will be fine.
