Mine's simple. I didn't even mind him going out in the blaze of glory he did in AEW. Because that was the most CM Punk thing CM Punk could do. Right or wrong, he stood by his convictions. Until he didn't. After he got fired he walked back a decade of very public shit talking and convictions just to chop his balls off and go right back to the same WWE he was so desperate and "needed" to leave. And don't get it twisted. It's still the same place. Punk was friends and text buddies with Vince. Most of his issues revolved around Triple H. So yeah that same place he cried fired him on his wedding day, the place that tried to kill him with z-packs. That he said wasn't actually wrestling. He went crawling back the first chance they welcomed him. He became the exact thing he spent his original years in WWE crying about. A washed part timer who steps in and takes up the spotlight without doing any of the work. His matches suck. His promos have no soul. He's just a hollow fraud now and it bums me out because I was such a big fan of the dude years ago

He made his comeback in AEW and declared that he was finally back in "Professional Wrestling" after he left it in 2005. Dude always was in it for himself. He got pissed that WWE never bent over for him. He finally came across a money mark who would. After causing the company to lose any good will it had left by derailing the world title picture, he then took it upon himself to ruin the most important night in the history of the company.

Punk didn't help AEW, he helped himself. He didn't show up until all of the AEW originals made it someplace special. And he didn't have the balls to go back to WWE until they finally turned around the decline that began when he was made the champion. He's a charisma vaccum who is only good at elevating himself. He's Chris Jericho except a bit younger. He's smart enough to keep his ego in check now that he's broke.

He's got a weird opportunistic nature to him. He joined AEW when they were hot and on an organic growth, then joined WWE when they were hot and on an organic growth. I suppose it's to make him look like a draw despite his second UFC fight bombing, his second AEW run tracking low, his Fox show literally getting cancelled, that game show he was on hitting record low ratings, etc.

I forgot about this. Only made it even more weird that he'd end up signing there after openly lying about something so trivial as that. Let's not forget to mention his visit to Raw one week when he was out injured in AEW. Which as carefully as he's chosen his words when speaking about it I have zero doubt was when he began his talks with them about returning

PG Punk sucks, but he's still the most interesting guy in wrestling by a long shot. What I don't like is how he comes out of every situation smelling like roses. Always the victim, never his fault. If I had to deal with someone like that in my own life I would want to kill him. People like that work me into a fucking shoot.
