The match was designed to neuter him instead of rewarding him for the very underrated HHH/Dean match the month before. He did win the WWE Title at MITB, though, so he did get rewarded later.... then was given Dolph Ziggler as a SummerSlam opponent.
Mox had every right to be upset creatively by all of that, despite his fuckup in the Austin interview.
