CM Punk SHOOTS on fans misusing insder terms

No.16806043 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Speaking to Peter Rosenberg, Punk vented his frustration over people criticizing his use of Paul Bearer’s passing in his feud with The Undertaker, arguing that fans and writers misuse terms like “heat” and “cheap heat” all the time.

>“I don’t, I don’t understand. No one knows anything; they’re always just babbling,” Punk said. “But it is a fun conversation to have, sure. Sure, but is it cheap? Is it really cheap heat, you know what I mean? Like, people say it’s kind of the most authentic heat. People say that to me all the time, but they don’t know. You know, and this is my biggest problem with the so-called fans and stuff like that: they have these words in their lexicon that they read on the internet from someone like Meltzer or something like that, and they use them out of context. They have no idea what it means, you know what I mean?”

Punk made it clear that this issue isn’t just with fans—it happens inside WWE as well. He recalled a moment where a WWE writer misused the term “heat”, and he had to correct them on the spot.

>“And I actually, I said this to one of our writers one time. They said something like, ‘Oh, and then you’re going to do this, and then you’re going to get heat.’ And I said, ‘Stop. No, no, that’s not how it works. You don’t even know what that word means. You have no idea what that word means.'”

Punk was especially annoyed by fans calling his Paul Bearer storyline “cheap heat”, saying people who complain about things like that don’t actually understand the industry.

>“And these people run around and they’re like, ‘Oh, he doesn’t need to do this, and Paul Bearer, you know, it’s disrespectful, and it’s just cheap heat.’ And it’s, it’s, it’s not. You don’t know what, you don’t know what heat is. You don’t know what cheap heat is. Shut the f* up and watch the show.**”
