These games are dogshit microtransaction infused corporate cashgrabs. The gameplay isn't even fun, It's the same shit over and over.
The only update is another mode for marks to pay REAL currency for digital items that have 0 value and will be nulled by the next year's game.
These games fucking suck ass on a fundamental level, they aren't fun to play.
It's all the same frankenstein engine shit.

Basically open world space with a bunch of cool sights that you can explore as you travel from place to place on an electric skateboard or some shit to advance in story mode, have matches online, from the looks of it it’s also tied to the Showcase

That's just games in general. I'd much sooner grab a PS2 emulator and play a bunch of old yet complete and actually fun games than anything new that while it looks a million times better is going to be some day one patch slop that crashes or wants me to spend $50 just to progress through the menus. I used to fucking love these games. I'd get excited and buy em every year. I've probably spent 20 minutes total on them over the last 3 or 4. It's just the same thing over and over and over and over

I bought 2k24 last week. It's the first wrestling game I've owned since Smackdown vs Raw 2007. It's pretty fun but it feels like there's basically nothing to do if you're not just making up headcanon while playing exhibition matches? Am I missing something?

That's not a doompost. That's literally what "the city" is in 2k games. There's little minigames scattered around, but ultimately it's just a walkable mtx market.

Nah man that's how it was. Every year things seemed like they were getting better and better and each new generations of consoles seemed even more promising. It was like look at Warzome compared to even just SYM. That big of a jump in only a few years. So you'd think imagine what 10 years from now things will be like. Sadly it peaked around the 360. Visuals have continued to get better which is cool but as far as overall enjoyment of games goes it's all been downhill since. The industry got way too greedy

They can't handle 1 v 1 matches on their servers most the time. This is going to be a train wreck and overflowing in microtransactions. Cant bother fixing Universe Mode tho.
