>>16814067As Dave Meltzer, Tony's butt boy puts it: "It's preposterous that a 57 year old man is going for the world title". It's not about being over 29 as you put it, almost all relevant wrestlers are somewhere in their mid 30 or early 40s. AEW employs a lot of ex-WWE guys who are in their mid to late 40s, some even in their early 50s, which isn't a problem in itself most of the time, you need veteran talent to teach the younger wrestlers how things are done, and these veterans are supposed to be used to put over the next generation of talent, the problem starts here, almost every late 40s guy who joined AEW is main event talent, while their younger supposedly superstar signees like Jay White are stuck doing nothing in the mid card, just to put things into perspective, Jeff Jarrett (57) is being pushed as a contender for the world championship, Edge (51) is probably next in line for a shot, Christian (51) holds the equivalent of Money In the Bank briefcase, and probably their most realistic chance into building interest in their product again, Bobby Lashley (48) and Shelton Benjamin (49) became Tag Team Champions yesterday, Chris Jericho (54) is ROH world champion and he gets TV time almost every week.
