First you have to understand that it was on the era where Vince randomly fucked with the titles, joined these two, changed that, retired 24/7 - changes for changes sake. In a awful, awful decision after Xavier wins, a new awful and trashy crown that looks like some the MVP of XFL award is introduced.
Xavier does the whole King of the Ring thing, as is tradition, calling matches and changing rules for maybe 4 weeks, i can't be arsed to check, it's pretty lackluster without crowds anyway but it's what it is.
For some reason, presumed Vince got mad it didn't go his way, Roman Reigns, now in his Tribal chief of terrorizing the roster mode has to get involved with the King of Ring. In a trash feud, Roman beats down Xavier, takes and later breaks the crown if I remember correctly and it is never talked about again. Xaviers King of the Ring status isn't used or even mentioned on TV for a good while.
