Yeah, seems like he came up with all sorts of cool shit and seeing him in that singlet ring-gear he had made would have been surreal. All in all it's kind of fine now though, his story is ending nicely by finally being appreciated by the whole crowd and having one last run.

I would have him create a heel stable of guys from his era, with Orton and ideally Edge but given he's in AEW, maybe Styles or Punk. They talk about how they must be on top because none of the young guys can step up, but they meanwhile work together to keep those guys down and even injure those who may threaten them.
Cena would come to the ring wearing a suit and cut promos in the same way he would speak to people about making a mess in his house.
