Egod here, the first 5 weeks of collision was the best wrestling television show I’ve seen since RA smackdown . Nothing touched it . Those FTR matches with BGG , insanely good. The promos with punk were great and even the smaller segments with Miro and Scorpio

If punk ever books nxt I’ll watch

Adding extra shows was a massive mistake for both WWE and AEW. Sure they get more money from the network but at the same time they dilute their product so much that people now skip shows.
I don't want or need to watch ten hours plus of live wrestling every week

Collision stood out because the shows made sense and it was produced well. AEW is produced horrifically badly so it was pretty shocking to see an AEW show that looked competent.
It wasnt perfect by any means, but it was good. Definitely the best TV are ever had.

It's insane what a production meeting can lead to huh. Proper lighting states, cameras know where they need to be and when, specific shots planned out and executed, etc etc.
And so of course instead of learning from this Tony had to make both shows look even worse out of spite/incompetence

It's quite different from most pro wrestling production, yes. It's avant garde by that respect. But that's what makes LU a must watch. The matches were still performed in front of a live crowd and edits werent as frequent as you think. WWF and WCW used to have wrestlers redo spots or entire matches back in the days before live television too btw. That part is nothing new.

It was alright but the problems longevity wise outdid any good will it had. Two shows between too entirely separate camps in AEW between team Phil & Team Elite. No coincidence the guys on early collision are the ones who are trying their hardest to get out of the company now
