All the other stars have aligned too for him this year. Rock isn't around to steal his main event spot. Punk himself has been surprisingly healthy despite wrestling semi-regularly in the past 6 months.
Morever, the younger talent like Bron Breaker and Jacob Fatu aren't ready yet to win a Rumble and main event mania. One or two years from now, who knows, maybe people have moved on from old man Punk and want new guys to win the rumble instead.
They teased Cody vs Punk which is frankly the biggest main event match they can do this year for Mania. Cody vs Roman again is too soon, Rock isn't here and no one else is on Punk's level to challenge Cody right now. I think Punk wins the Rumble, achieves his dream of main eventing Mania and then retires next year so that he can spend all his time fucking young girls in their early 20s in NXT.
