Story reason: Wrestlemania is hallowed ground for Taker and to see the Bloodline disrespecting all of WWE at the grandest stage forced him to stop the Rock. Real reason: Austin backed out and Taker was the back up. At least we now have a Mania Rock/Taker moment.

Taker works better anyway. Austin shouldn't have been "they guy who's saves the company", Taker works better in that spot. Just wish they gave him a full entrance with dead man gear over bikertaker. Could have just slow walked to the ring, set off Pyro and had cody pearl harbor the rock.
