I imagine he asked the developers to do a theme and when it came back he was like "...oh" and felt obliged to use it. It takes too long to get going and the key change at the end is truly awful. Don't even get me started on the lyrics and singing.

Even if his run soured in the latter half of his time there, Cody was the glue that held the company together. Also notice how AEW has a lot harder of a time networking with Warner, Cody was the face that appeared everywhere to promote the company. They tried their hand at Jericho replacing him for a couple months but that never really bared any notable fruit.
